for mac os x
If you are running Mac OS X, you enable Apple Remote Desktop by going
to System Preferences, Internet & Network,
and choosing Sharing.
Once you have enabled Remote Desktop you can select which
accounts to grant remote access, as well as a number of other options. Be
sure to verify the personal firewall for your Mac is setup to allow
incoming traffic for remote desktop.
ARD uses TCP and UDP ports 3283 and 5900. You must
open and forward these ports on your Internet Gateway to connect to your Mac if
it is behind a NAT.
